Background:
The 2018 VHP Community Build took place in Delft and consisted of the construction of RDP houses. It is a week worth of work experienced organised on behalf of UCT for 1st year students studying towards their B.Sc in Construction Economics and Management at the university. For most students this was their 1st practical experience in the industry. The Community build is a project facilitated by Blue Moon Projects where students are presented with the opportunity to learn more about building technology and how it ties in with the theory we are taught in class.

Continued excavating trenches from the previous day as the foreman was not happy with the width of the trench. After lunch we mixed concrete and got taught how to lay bricks.

We had to re-lay the brickwork from the previous day as the foreman did not want any closers in the wall. After lunch we backfilled trenches.
