During the initial 5 weeks of lockdown, ranging from the 27th of March 2020 to the 5th of May 2020, I was fortunate enough to have been involved in a DIY project on my uncle’s farm. The project was supervised by my uncle and involved building a cold room in which fresh fruit could be stored.
The cold room was to be built on an already existing concrete slab with one already existing wall. The remaining enclosing walls were to comprise of frames built with treated SA pine timber, OSB board and aluminium sheeting. The roof of the structure was already in place as an existing structure.
